Honestly this, and the fact is it's a problem of their own creation, the destruction of the middle class American dream by decreasing wages and increasing housing costs. I'm single, own a home, and have a good job. Even if I marry a woman in my income bracket, the math just doesn't add up to me with the cost of childcare and an extra mouth to feed and all the other costs of raising a child, not to mention that I already have a pretty full, busy life without that added on. I'd basically be accepting a big lifestyle downgrade to have children, and I really don't want to do that. I can't even imagine how anyone in a worse financial situation expects to make it work.
