Those helmet engrams. My, my.
I didn't have (or want, after not really digging the Striker) a Titan when Xur sold the Saint-14, and have been dying for one since giving a second chance to the lovely class, ala Defender. I love it, and hated myself for not buying and vaulting that damned helm a few months back.
...So I was pretty happy when I saw the helmet engrams up for sale. I immediately bought four of them and wiped out my current stock of Motes, but was SURE I'd get one. I rushed to the cryptarch, hit the X button (PS4!), and immediately the yellow box popped up with two lovely, lovely words. THE RAM.
Ecstatic, I immediately threw it on and checked myself out. I noticed a gentleman standing to my right who was clearly doing the same. I approached him and danced. He immediately sent me a friend request, clearly just as happy as I.
After calming down, I opened the second, and it ended up being the new Gunslinger helm. Awesome. I'm not going to wear it as much as my Symbiote, but it looks like it could be fun. The third and fourth gave me repeats and worse rolls of helms I already owned, and I was still without a HoS14. So I headed to the Speaker, shittons of Ascendant mats in hand. Promptly traded in 200 of them, and flew back to the Reef.
The next four gave me that shitty new stone-faced Titan helm, and a Light Beyond Nemesis, along with a couple of more repeats. Still no St. 14. Fuck. Time to buy four more.
Three straight Obsidian Minds later, I had one engram left. "Which useless piece of shit will you turn into?", I asked. It answered "Hi. I'm the Helm of Saint-14."
This has been the best Xurday of my time in front of this game. I still don't have a Ghallarhorn, but I also don't have any fucks to give about it right now. I hit the lottery this week, and wouldn't have been able to had it not been for all of the changes (i.e. material exchange) made with the new DLC. The game just got even more fun. Goodnight all.
TL:DR - Wanted a St. 14 helm, so I broke the bank buying engrams, which turned into every new exotic helm and more before the final one yielded my beloved blinder.
