But the way I see it I think Israel is largely to blame for this sentiment on Jews as a whole.

Israel is an apartheid ethnostate that has done everything in it's power to make the state of Israel seem inseparable from Judaism as an identity as apart of a propaganda campaign. Not only can you not criticize Israel for it being "antisemitic" but that any actions Israel commits they reshape it to be seen as Jewish actions. That when they bomb Palestine or Lebanon or fund Saudi Arabia to bomb Yemen that this is actually done to the benefit of Jews everywhere. Even when they contradict themselves by being oppressive to other Jews who dissent against the government it's still in the name of the people. Given that racists are stupid it's not a surprise they'd buy into this and turn it around on regular people.
