The junior doctor, deep in sleep,

remains unstirred, whilst pager goes bleep.

Fluids not prescribed, an EWS of four,

venflon required, but not much more.

The nurses do wonder, oh they think,

where's that doctor, is she catching a wink?

When she wakes, to the ward she strolls,

to update the list, #nightshiftgoals.

I'll post this to reddit, for the karma,

all the whilst wishing, she worked in pharma.

"A quiet night", young doctor remarks,

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??", the matron barks.

To her pager she looks, missed bleep times five,

how did she not, from her slumber, revive?

A sheepish look, and an apology later,

the nurse took pity, chose not to berate her.

The junior doctor, now wide awake,

tends to her patients, after her extended break.
