Covid was a perfect storm to radicalize a bunch of people, valid concerns morphed into political gasoline really fast. But good for you for coming around, there's still a lot of people who haven't. I lost some family members to the covid alt right pipeline. I never imagined that people would have reacted the way they did to the pandemic, but unfortunately controlling a harmful disease requires doing things differently that we don't want to, and that looks a lot like taking away individual freedom. Unfortunately I feel like the covid situation is worse now, just in different ways. And ngl, it's really hard not to feel resentful about it as someone who didn't end up drinking the koolaid, but I try to be understanding of people whenever I can.
