Honestly? Enjoy it while you can.

A good, loving relationship is worth it, but it also involves a great deal of sacrifice. You sacrifice control over your own decisions to at least a non-trivial degree, you sacrifice your freedom to make life changing decisions on a whim completely, and you can even have to change your daily routine dramatically to accommodate. I rarely get to eat spicy foods, some of my favorite foods are just not on the menu anymore, and most of my money goes to "us" which is fine but "us" needs a lot more money for basic living than "me" ever did.

My girlfriend says that if she passes away she hopes I'll find someone again, but I honestly think I'd rather just go back to being 100% in control of my own life again and occasionally seek casual sex instead of engaging in another full relationship.
