Got it. I have stumbled across a few dozen counterfeit baofengs already, if I end up going with baofeng i'll definitely make as certain as possible that i'm getting a legit one. The Yaesu is tempting, I'll definitely do some comparing and see if i want to stretch the budget a bit more. If nothing else i get the baofeng, hate it, and in a month order a yaesu and chuck the baofeng in a backpack for an EDC unit and have the yaesu for when i want higher quality mobile ops and am not doing anything stupid that will probably damage it. For a general idea, with those yaesu units, are they a "one really good drop and it's done for" level of durable, or a "i hit it with my truck and then dropped it in a lake and it still keeps going" level?
