Whenever people discuss this, they usually point to one of two comments Larson made.

In one of them, Larson discussed how systemic sexism and racism sidelines certain demographics in and around film criticism in a way that she deemed unfair. That's not an unreasonable thing to say ; I agree with her.

In the other, she was dismissive and rude to one of the major demographics of her audience in a way we would simply not tolerate were it about black men or gay women.

These two things are mutually exclusive. She didn't need to be so snotty, she has no right to be that snotty, and it's an indictment of our culture today that people should accept and defend the latter.
