2 people shot in Ferguson as new protests break out

Anymore whitesplaining for us?

This kind of shit kills any credibility or empathy people might have for you through all colors of the spectrum.

You don't know me. I could be white, black, asian, hispanic, croatian, polish, or anything else. With that in mind, here are some important things you and those who share your mindset need to hear:

First and foremost, police brutality, racial profiling, and use of excessive force by law enforcement is not just out of hand in America - it's become the expected and accepted norm. Black people are indeed targeted unfairly. Police are indeed given special treatment. I'll be the first to agree that this status quo needs to be changed. Sweeping overhaul and reform of the nations entire law enforcement division is not only required, it is desperately needed.

That being said, here's the honest-to-God truth that you refuse to hear: Black people need the support of other races in order to get this job done. The longer people like yourself continue to proliferate this idea that it's a white/black problem instead of a police/black problem, you alienate people who would otherwise stand by your side. This "whitesplaining" concept, "white guilt", and every other buzzword or term that people such as yourself throw around only serve to hamper your cause. You claim that blacks should be treated equally - and they should! - but you then turn around and mistreat other races. You are defeating your own cause.

You can't run around yelling "Black people are oppressed!" while oppressing others. You can't hold up signs that say "Black lives matter!" if you don't respect the lives of other races. And you can't fight the commonly sited stereotype that black people are all "thugs and criminals" if black people are out there smashing stores, burning businesses, and stealing liquor, cigarettes, cell phones, cash registers, and anything else they can grab.

Police reform isn't something that only black people should want. It's something that all Americans should want. When you alienate other races - such as whites - you alienate potential allies. Your voices don't get louder by stealing tires and cell phones from looted stores. Your voices get louder when the number of voices increase. And your numbers won't increase loud enough for the American government to hear until there is a nationwide outcry of all races, genders, and creeds.

Stop pushing non-black people away. Those of us who truly want to see reforms come to the American police system are tired of watching people with attitudes like yours hold the rest of us back.
