38/M just diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety is really kicking in tonight knowing I'm starting medication tomorrow (Adderall XR 20mg)

Hi! 32/F and started 2 days ago same mg. I did take Adderall IR as a kid for a couple years but I was still nervous since it had been so long and I totally forgot what to expect beyond being able to sit and read a book and do my school work at the time.

Everyone is different but I still felt a little jittery and "up" but I could easily focus when needed. It also felt like my "motor" had turned off as they say. Last night I fell asleep like normal but I didn't sleep as soundly as normal. I'm expecting that to go away with me getting used to the medication but we'll see....

Today was day 2 and it was even better. Not so jittery but still good side effects such as I could still easily focus and a felt a calm. I found a lot of anxiety reduction today also. Times at work when I would normally have nervous energy I was calm and content.

I've completely lost my appetite these last two days so that's a major issue. My doctor recommended eating a large breakfast, taking the pill, and then eating a larger (and later) dinner to compensate for the lost nutrition.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER... Adderall definitely dehydrates and I feel a lot better in general with upping water intake anyway.

These are a couple things that have been on my mind and I thought I would share so you can get a little insight, although like I said everyone is different.

Just know that it can get easier... we are lucky enough to have an issue with help. Some others don't have that luxury....
