During this past summer, I tried both sizing up once in the 6" inseam and buying the 10" version. Going forward, I will stick only with 6" in my regular size.

The 10" version is super high rise so at least 1 inch higher rise than the regular align shorts 6". I am relatively tall (5'9") and with a pretty long torso - I am one of those people always complaining that the align tank is a bit too cropped. However, the super high rise is too high for my liking. I might be ok with the SHR in the full length aligns, but I usually wear the shorts just with a bra and working out from home -- the extra fabric is just in my way and making me feel too hot. So even if you hem them, keep in mind that the waistband of the 10" will go significantly higher on your torso than the 6" version.

As for the one size up in the 6" inseam, I am a 6 in all my leggings and shorts, except I like to size up to an 8 in WT shorts. But somehow an 8 in the align shorts was a lot less flattering on my body than my regular size 6. It's hard to explain why because align shorts don't offer any compression anyway, but size 8 was too loose on my body.
