76 years ago today, the Soviet Union joined Nazi Germany in its conquest of Poland. • /r/russia

Seriously?? You made the original post!!!! You posted a random historical fact onto a socialist forum instead of a history one. I can only assume you are trying to make a point although without knowing your views I cannot tell what that point is. Do you belive that socialism is responsible for the invasion of Poland by the USSR or something???

You said this originally:

We are Communists, Stalin arguably wasn't.

My original post says nothing of Stalin's alleged communism (or lack therof). I simply responded and you've continued to weave the thread partially around it, so don't blame me for continuously responding. Why make a post if you don't want it responded to?

However yes obviously socialists invaded Poland, is that in dispute now?

I don't agree with Leninism, I'm just telling you what they argue Leninism sets out to do.

Well it's kind of silly if they do believe that given history.

All I did was to pount there's an interesting argument to be made about the motives of the USSR's invasion of Poland and tht it wasn't just to grab lots of land and terrorise Polish people as Cold War propaganda would have you believe. The Polish at the time did not consider it an invasion. This is just a historical debate and really is irrelevant to socialism.

You originally said it wasn't an invasion and then moved the goal post into saying it was a justified invasion. Two very different things.

As you said:

but the above comment puts an interesting argument forward that the USSR did not invade Poland but rather took land off an already-exiled nation in order to stop the Nazis advancing further.
