So if you want to moralize, you shouldn't say "The Nazi puts the gun to your head and tells you to kill the civilians, what do you do?". It's more like "Your buddies will think less of you if you don't participate, you might even get demoted or they might dock your pay... that sucks. Line them up and shoot them I guess?"

This is untrue and an evil lie. My German great-grandmother was nearly executed in front of her children because she supported many politically persecuted people. She was just amnestied in the last second by the Nazis because she was a German mother.
