fully paid conference 1+ per year. Business flight plane seat if 5+ hours. $300 meal allowance per day. Don't have to share a hotel with another person.
That's about the limit though. I work in industry and I can go to 1-2 conferences a year sure, some of my friends in academia go to like 5+ international conferences*, summer/winter schools, visit collaborators labs, etc and easily do 10x more travel than me on company/institute time. Yes, the hotels and allowances are better but I would take 5+ international trips in 2-star hotels over 2 trips in 4-star hotels any day (I am aware the preference depends on the person). Also, none of my academia friends have had to share a hotel room AFAIK.
