AITA for being peeved about surprise tooth extractions during neutering

NTA.

They should have discussed it with you first. Where I work, the doctors will do complete examinations, including looking at the teeth, EVERY single time you bring in your pet, for surgery or otherwise. In young animals, removing baby teeth if they still have them at the time of a neuter/spay, is always recommended. Those teeth need to come out. They can cause trouble for the adult teeth coming in if they're not removed or don't fall out on their own, and while they're under anesthesia it's a perfect time to take care of them. So while the doctor/tech didn't do anything unnecessary, they should probably make it more of a habit to relay all of this to clients before the fact.
