Sexes aside, telling your family that they only contributed about 5% of happiness in your life (and the rest was due to your work) is pretty shitty. If you aren’t happy and fulfilled to have kids, then… don’t have any? And if you had some and regret it, maybe don’t tell them that they contributed a really minute portion of joy to your life? And maybe don’t say that at a dinner party with your family?

Like, I really find the mental gymnastics here to support this woman fascinating. It was a completely unnecessary and hurtful comment - at a family dinner!
