The talking only started after I told him I told him I was moving out a few weeks ago because I couldn’t do it his way anymore. Everytime I’ve needed to say something, he would shut down and say “I shouldn’t be forced to talk about things I don’t want to talk about”. I’ve tried different approaches, like offering to communicate in email instead or telling him I needed to talk then letting him approach me when he was ready. I’ve literally offered to do it however he wanted as long as we were communicating, but nothing worked until I was on the last straw. It shouldn’t have taken walking away to make it happen, but at least it did. That’s why I’m not saying everything is peachy just yet. I need to make sure this isn’t just a one and done thing.
