Sounds like the real issue at hand here is you no longer enjoy being Dans friend. Perhaps you guys grew apart, or once what seemed like fun childish antics over time grew too frustrating.

If your question is, should I keep punishing my friend, you should stop and ask, should I keep being this persons friend? It doesn’t mean be mean to them, or cut them out entirely. Like if they show up to a group activity, you don’t have to leave or make it an issue. Just make the space that you feel comfortable with. It’s your life.

NTA, but friends don’t really punish each other. If a talk can’t solve the issue, there are bigger issues at hand.
