You see what I’d have done if I knew it was attention seeking is not give her any. Like when she mentioned the surprise I would’ve acted like I didn’t know what she was talking about. If she’d have said ‘go look in your room’ I’d have said I have and I didn’t see anything so she would either have to sulk because she wasn’t getting attention or admit in front of our mum what she’d done.

My brother went through this phase and it’s really easy to end, just don’t give them the attention and they get bored or they get embarrassed that they went to all the effort for nobody to give a shit. Seems like the mum is encouraging it though like a fool.
