Alberta docs face loosing their jobs over not getting vaccinated

I am not getting the COVID vaccine.

Recovered from COVID, in Dec, and am going into my 3rd trimester of pregnancy. I get tested for COVID every 3 days, minimum, at work.

I'm not hurting anyone, I'm not ruining your life, I'm not being negligent in protecting myself, I'm not filling up the hospitals and preventing you from getting surgery, I'm not even antivaxx How can we know pregnancy outcomes? We don't even know real long term effects of the virus, itself.

Taiwan has the population of Canada, in a 350 km island. They were a model country and mitigated the virus, completely. They had an outbreak, later, and with less than 50% single dose vaccination rate, eliminated it, once more, due to high compliance with restrictions and wearing masks.

Israel, has high vaccination rate, yet is facing a surge of COVID.

The vaccine does not eliminate COVID. It is one of many preventative measure, including wearing a mask, washing your hands, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, social distancing etc. Albertans are fed up with all other measures, and just want vaccination to be the answer. It's not.

I followed all measures, strictly. When the vaccine was not yet available, my manager invited someone into the office, with a known COVID contact (while people couldn't even visit family, on Christmas). He coughed all over the hallway, by my office. 2 days later, was down and out with COVID.

Despite my best efforts, I still got the virus. I have suffered due to negligent people, but gained good immunity, in the process. Countries like Greece are accepting travellers with proof of vaccination OR recovery from COVID. Recovery from COVID could be more effective than vaccination.

Yes, larger percentages of COVID patients in ICU are unvaccinated, but alot of them are completely ignorant. They may not even believe in the virus, or follow any measures.

We have all suffered. Are you sanitizing? Washing your hands? Cautious within 6 feet? No. You're over it.
