I Am Unironically a Communist and This is a Leftist Sub. We want to Abolish Capitalism.

Society functions without anyone working because we have a massive army of robots that are so efficient at producing food that we literally have to throw food in the garbage because otherwise the price would collapse. The same for a lot of things that are on store shelves.

We create artificial scarcity in order to keep the lie alive that resources are limited. In a robotic production system a lot of things are unlimited. If we just accept them as unlimited.

Yes you can work for "society" in a communist dictatorship, which is why one of the USSR greatest rock stars Victor Tsoi had to be a maintenance man for an apartment complex instead of spending time making music. Because his music was not approved by the state. Or why so many writers were in prison camps building roads to nowhere or working on inefficient pointless projects that could have been done better by machines.
