Amazon engineer quits after he 'snapped' when the company fired workers who called for protections

No, but you could restrict your sales to essential items and reduce your workforce to meet the lower demands.

They did restrict "non-essential" items previously. But you can make an argument that everything is essential in some form or fashion. And if they started cutting their workforce people would be bitching about them firing people during a pandemic.

And from what I've seen no one is trying to hold other businesses to this standard. My local grocery stores certainly haven't stopped selling school supplies, or flowers, or cards, etc. Restaurants are still open, but people could easily get food at a grocery store, why aren't people calling for them to be shut down? I'm sure you could come up with plenty of other examples.

Alright now that’s literally part of what this article and part of what the current amazon strikes is about, them not providing those protections adequately.

But they do. They have been. I literally talked with a friend today who works at Amazon about how they're doing temperature checks, handing out masks, and have social distancing signage in the offices as well.

They're even handing out masks to customers at Whole Foods now.

Like I said, Amazon is doing far more than most companies and they've doing the kind of things people say companies should be doing. Yet, people are still complaining about them like they aren't.
