Trump isn’t the second coming of Hitler like some people like to think.

Is that really the threshold we're going for now-adays? Is the bar set that low? I mean I agree with you, but jeez man, you don't have to go full Hitler to be dangerously authoritarian.

Trump has mused about the use of nuclear weapons. He campaigned on jailing his political opponents. He threatens journalists and comedians. He's stoking racial animus and treading on conspiracy theories. He has his own state media. He's interning asylum seekers and separating them from their children.

Sure, America can probably survive Fascism-lite... but you can hardly blame people for being alarmed at this 'new normal'.
