Americans in Their 30s Are Piling On Debt

It’s crazy. There’s nothing to cut. I don’t know how people less than middle class are handling this, but food alone is killing us. Everything costs more.

We’re making more money than ever, but raises aren’t keeping up with inflation. We have several kids, so our biggest expense is food. We aren’t piling on debt, but we aren’t saving as much in retirement funds as we used to and have tightened our belts in a lot of ways around travel and we never eat out anymore.

Healthcare is another area where it’s bad. Our premiums went up and our copay’s and deductible doubled and they cover much less than they did last year. It feels like pre-Obamacare
