An assignment my financial literacy teacher gave us + my response

I genuinely used to believe many stereotypes of this vein until I thankfully went to an extremely high-level, liberal university that forced us to do activities like scavenger hunts in very run-down areas. The things they had us looking for were like, “How many functioning cars do you see in driveways? How many stores that actually sell fresh groceries? How many liquor stores? How many people waiting with grocery bags at a bus stop?” They had all kinds of classes like that on finding and addressing our own biases, because everyone has them it’s just a matter of acknowledging them and learning. It was extremely eye-opening, and I’m very grateful to have experienced that instead of a school that could have reinforced my tentative, adolescent and highly conservative “beliefs”
