simple. The feminist version of the "rape culture" is laughable.

Originally, rape culture referred to the way things were handled in prison, or in the military. Read the statements of how it wasd back then. How researchers uncovered case upon case where prisoners had harems, of how it was an open secret that when you went to prison, the top dogs of the gangs would rape you, and the wardens would do shit, because they had to work with them every day. How you had wardens cheering on the rapists.

Or, how in certain military installations, new recruits would be habitually raped, sexually molested, or worse degenerate shit, just to "break them in, and welcome them to the brotherhood. ". And how the superiors looked away, or excused it as good old boy culture. You know, back then, I was hazed as well, its just plain old fun, nothing bad, didn't damage me in any way...

Now, in my eyes, this is exactly comparable to "Lena Dunham" going on stange at the apollo, in front of a black audience, and going "You guys should know I am a slave to. I have to work for a living. And my mother and my grandmother before me as well. So I know all about slavery! If you are for having to work for a living, it's slavery! If yozu criticise me for speaking out about it, I will tell yiou I have the microphone, I scream louder then all of you, so I am more important, and my opinion counts! And after all, blacks being in slavery was so long ago, you guys should not hogg that word, it's a new world!"

Yes, I agree the attitude toewards rape that these people display is below acceptable, but to title it rape culture is a gross missnomer. Since women can't rape, because they have no protruding genitalia ( several states are thankfull changing the legal framework for that), there are no "mixed gender" prisons or military institutions, the draft is and allways has been nonexistant for females, and prison terms are laughable for female criminals if compared to what the men get for the same crime, I would suggest that thanks to the above mentioned historically accumulated female priviledge, you shut the fuck up, examine your accumulated priviledge, and think about if there is not an other word you can use for the circumstances you find distastefull.
