I see what you're getting at, and to some extent I agree. I do. I can totally empathize with the icy rage that gives rise to the urge to annihilate someone who's done something horrible, like in this instance, or like Dexter.

But that's still premeditated, vigilante-style murder, and ultimately you're using "they were bad people" as an excuse to sate your own bloodlust. Granted, it's a very noble excuse, and I'm all for wiping scum like that off the face of the earth, but it's an excuse nonetheless. There are other, far more creative ways to get rid of people like that, and anyone who is clever and inventive enough to kill someone and not be caught can just as well use those talents to singlehandedly annihilate their targets without ever having laid a hand on them.

I'm just saying, I think killing someone is only acceptable in the event of self-defense. If they're coming after you or yours, go to town on them. Destroy them. Otherwise...nah.

(Ironically, I'm somewhat in support of the death penalty. Heh.)
