Anthony Bourdain had no drugs in his system when he died.

Being a piece of shit active junkie who is completely self-absorbed, lies, steals, manipulates, stinks, abuses themselves/others, isn't representing the pinnacle of that person's character or what they have to offer.

If we're experiencing the same addiction, then I can be sure the junkie's selfish actions are a result of following the same kind of desperation a drowning man/woman feels to get their head above water. They are still responsible for what they do but I'm not going to call someone a coward for jumping from a burning building.

I definitely disagree with you though. I'm convinced there is always help for people like this and if they don't want it yet, they will if they live long enough and are able to suffer as much as possible, as a consequence of their own actions.
