Any transfers out there? Are you happy you transferred?

I transferred from a TTTT to T1. I was in the top 15% and that's really all that matters. Some say that 1L gpa is 95% of the equation, but I reckon it's 100%. Transferring was the best decision I ever made for academic, job outcome/placement, and social reasons. But I wouldn't suggest it for everyone. I was lucky to transfer to a school in the same city and didn't even have to move apartments. I was extremely unhappy at my 1L school. Within the first 2-3 weeks of fall semester I knew I had to leave. The students were incredibly cut throat and would try to swap notes/outlines with each other that had intentionally false info/rules in them to try to get a step ahead on the final. The school treated students poorly (like everyone was assumed to fail the bar, career office clearly lying about OCI/biglaw employment data, and more); the students were not what I was used to; and the school's reputation was really bad in the area and most people (lawyers, other law students, general public) would look at me differently when I told them I went to that school. I wouldn't suggest it for everyone, especially if you're happy with your school. If you're bent on a T14 name, then go for it. It's really up to you and nothing on TLS or /r/lawschool will help you.
