Bonkers how many people on here think the country is now suddenly an awful place to live because of racism and the Tories. I completely agree that the UK is on a downward trajectory but people are going to freak out when they realise how much more racism and Tory governments there were back when the UK felt a much nicer place to be.

In my mind it’s the diversity of society that is causing the huge decline. There was a time when people all pulled together with the same ideals, now being different is celebrated. Everyone is encouraged to take their own path and those young people that most bemoan the decline of society are often the biggest causes of it. Any place that squeezes together a huge melting pot of different social, religious, economic views, and screams at others that don’t conform to their same outlook - leavers vs remainers, trans rights vs women’s rights, left vs right - will never end well. This is what is now playing out in the UK.
