Anyone having bad recovery?

I’m so sorry to hear your suffering! How did you know you had an infection/how quickly did it progress?

I can commiserate.

I am 6 weeks post op tomorrow and just now getting openings! Started 4-5 days ago with an opening at the t junction and this this morning near my nipple another opening in the same breast. When I saw my dr after the first opening, she said she saw some pus and prescribed keflex, which I started taking. They seem to be getting bigger and have what I think is slough in the wound beds? I’ve also had a lot of swelling and soreness overall. I still can’t reach high or bend and reach for things, my extended incisions feel tight and pulled. I hate sleeping on my back and haven’t had a good nights sleep in 6 weeks. I’m just emotional and frankly depressed over it all.

I’m supposed to start back at work next week. I am an inpatient nurse and just don’t see how I’m going to be able to do that and lifting/physical aspects. I have messaged my dr asking about my restrictions with work and these openings.

I thought I was almost done with recovery and back to my normal life and then wounds pop up. I love my size and am happy with the results. I just did not expect it to be this hard and difficult :/ everyone I know who he had this surgery did great and was back to work and running/swimming at 6 weeks. I can’t help but feel like it’s something I did or am I’m not as healthy to he having a hard go of it.

Hang in there, we will make it out eventually!
