First of all, it's iOS vs Android otherwise, you'd just compare a corporation with an operating system.

Operating systems can be run on a broad spectrum of hardware. Basically, you can install Android on every system supporting Linux kernels. Here, iOS fails as it is limited to Apple's handheld devices to run properly.

There are only Apple devices to run iOS, but there are several brands of Smartphones running Android. So basically we're comparing iPhones to not any other Smartphone. It's the same like asking "Do you prefer red carpet over any other flooring?" without even giving another option. Thus, we aren't comparing anything at all here. It's just iPhones vs. not iPhones. Now we see the prices of iPhones and ask ourselves the only reasonable question in capitalism: "Is there a smartphone available with a better price?".

People who actually want iOS will pay any price, as there's no option besides not wanting iOS anymore.
