Are we required to take away our own Temptations?

In the story of Nephi getting the plates we read

5And now, behold thy brothers murmur, saying it is a hard thing which I have required of them; but behold I have not required it of them, but it is a commandment of the Lord. 6 Therefore go, my son, and thou shalt be favored of the Lord, because thou hast not murmured. 7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

When you married your husband, you made covenants with God and promises with your Husband. Whether or not this is a “commandment” to the degree of Nephi’s commandment to get the plates, thats for you to decide. But the meaning, i think stands. You’ve already also said the key phrase - its secret now. Secrecy is the spawning ground for sin and sows distrust and drives a wedge in between couples.

As for god taking away our temptations, we all have weaknesses and proclivities as humans. But God has told us that through Him, weak things can be made strong. In this case, fidelity, honesty, etc. but prayer and faith alone dont drive action. You need to take actual steps to correct and safeguard against the mistake or temptation. Which probably Starts by being open and honest with your husband.

Thats my opinion and advice, from someone who has been there before.
