My story is a good 20 years in the making. It started when I was 7 years old. I would wake up and see a man standing in the hallway outside my room. In my 7 year old mind I put it down to me seeing things. My eyes playing tricks.

Then skip forward into my 20's and again I started to see a man standing at the end of my bed. I would wake up panicking like crazy. Screaming. Trying to get out of my room away from this man. My partner would wake up and not see anything. In fact 1 night I had him so convinced there was someone standing there that he was climbing out the window with me. then I started waking up to what seemed like my house falling down around me. Spiders all over my wall. Weird lights on the roof of any room I slept in. At this point in time I'm fairly certain I have a sleep disorder. Night terrors.

Then one night i woke up to a stabbing pain in my chest and I couldnt breath. I woke my partner up saying I thought I had been stabbed and he told me to go back to sleep. I felt my chest and it was wet. I turned the light on and sure enough I was bleeding. A picture that I had hung above my bed had somehow come loose from the 2 hooks that was holding it, and landed corner first on my chest. Thinking back to then I still didn't give it much thought to it being anything other than bad luck.

Fast forward quite a few years and I was waking up most nights seeing things. Again in my head just adult night terrors. I moved from that house and for years nothing happened. Nothing. No waking up seeing a man at the end of my bed. No spiders. No house collapsing down around me. Then 6 months ago I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. My cat went from sleeping on the lounge to instantly running around the house looking up at the roof. 3 months ago with noone home except myself the toilet flushed. 2 weeks ago i woke up for the first time in a very long time to see something looking at me in my walk in robe. I got up very quickly and went to turn the light on and the light globe blew. I walked through to my bathroom and turned that light on and of course nothing was up there.

It's not something I have come to terms with very quickly. It's more that when I think back to the things that have happened over the years its starting to add up.
