I wouldn't bother, I tried harpooning my 2 stars boars yesterday it doesn't work on them once they're tamed.

There really does need to be a method to move tamed animals around, I think carrying them in your arms or being able to put them in a cage and load them on a wagon/ship would be perfect. Putting them on a boat at the moment is a death sentence for them. If the boat takes damage they get scared and basically run off the boat, both my 2 star boars died this way the first time I tried moving them.

In the end, I had to harpoon a wild boar, then sail an ocean away to my friend's island that didn't have any meadows, just so he could have boars nearby my house for easy access to food. If the harpoon disconnects it's hard to get close to the boar without killing it while sailing, or if a sea serpent shows up its basically game over for the boar and maybe you early game. Plus as the boar is wild it'll try and break your boat. Honestly, moving tamed creatures is just a headache.
