Arkham Knight or: I'm super excited for this game and no one seems to be talking about it but maybe I've just missed all the talk...

I didn't get around to playing Origins.

Didn't miss much. It wasn't Rocksteady who made it and it was absolutely filled with bugs. It was basically twice the size of City (though half the game just reuses the same map from city albeit altered to not be flooded or rundown). It was fun. The basic Arkham gameplay was there but it wasn't remotely close to as good.

A larger Gotham. Cool. So what? that's a given when you look at most AAA games these days. That doesn't really tickle my balls much nowadays. I lvoed Arkham Asylum and that was a very small closed map.

That's true but it'll be cool to finally get to roam around Gotham proper. I mean there won't be any civilians again which will make it feel less like I'm protecting actual people but with Batman and the series, I understand sort of why they've chosen to give an excuse for a lack of civilians. Still, I loved in Spider-Man 2 just swinging around and people were just there and stuff. Made you feel like you were protecting more than just buildings especially when combined with the random crimes and events.

Nicer graphics. Sure - but once again, so many games lately have falsely advertised their graphics so don't hold onto this one

I always take the demo graphics with a grain of salt. But they'll be nice enough for my tastes. I liked Assassin's Creed Unity's final graphics despite them being downgraded like most game graphics nowadays.

The Bat-Family. I suppose this depends on whether you like Robin/Nightwing and all that. But once again, I dont think it adds any depth to the story. I find it gimmicky - thats my own opinion, but you might find thats why there is not alot of talk happening.

It may turn out to be gimmicky but I love Nightwing, Robin, etc. Also the way I look at it is thay it'll be sort of like the party system in Dragon Age or other bioware games. You can switch to them at any time during combat. Instead of being an RPG with turn based combat or whatever, it's within the context of fast paced combat.

Batmobile. Hell yeah, cool. Another way to play the game. fuckin' sweet!

I love that Batman and the car have skins. Fingers crosses for Animated Batman/Animated Batmobile, '66 Batman/'66 Batmobile, The Dark Knight*/The Tumbler combos.

*Or Batman Begins which I actually think is a cooler outfit for the most part. The helmet of TDK outfit always looked weird to me.

They have very hardly advertised the god-damn story. The story is what had made Batman so iconic and so legendary over the decades - his and Gotham's story is incredibly deep, interwoven, well written, metaphorical yet very realistic. Fantasy but also grounded.

True, but im actually happy about this. I have no real idea of what to expect other than Scarecrow is presumably releasing his fear toxin or threatening to or something and the Arkham Knight is some mysterious new enemy who is like robo-Batman but bad. How they tie together, what their agenda is, etc. Is a mystery. So when I play any mysterious elements are mysterious to me. Origins had a "omfg Joker!" moment but considering he was advertised...I didn't have any surprise. Unfortunately, this game is not being written by Paul Dino which would have mostly guaranteed that it would have been at least about on par to the other games but I'm sure it'll be at least decent. I doubt it'll be better than Asylum/City but I never really expected it to be. Just within the ballpark is all I'm hoping for.
