Do me a favour and just google celebrities with bipolar disorder. There are dozens. Including Pete Davidson, the person who is currently dealing with the brunt of Kanye’s behaviour. I just wanted to point out that there are many MANY celebrities with mental illness, including bipolar, who have managed it. It’s not a get out of scrutiny free card.

Kanye’s choice to be an asshole is just that- a choice. It really has nothing to do with BP. Mental illness is extremely common and while you are absolutely right that people should not be judged or or blamed for having a mental disorder that does not absolve a person from harm they cause to someone else. Just like the rest of us, it is Kanye’s responsibility to manage his mental illness. Unlike the rest of us, he has access to every possible social service, doctor, psychiatric support, medication, etc. This isn’t a matter of “we just need to help them treat the disorder.” He has every option and opportunity and he doesn’t seem to want to treat the disorder. There’s the disorder, which I in no way blame or shame him for in any way because mental health is just part of a human experience and sometimes shit gets hard, and then there are his actions- those he is responsible for.
