Atmos sound from tv

Sounds like you need a lesson in basics of a home theater set up, and that's not a bad thing at all! We all started somewhere! I'm not sure I entirely understand what it is you have, or what you're trying to do, but I'll help.

I highly recommend just getting yourself started with a receiver and a 2.1 or 3.1 set up. A receiver works as both an amp, and a HDMI switcher. I highly recommend the Denon 1200w or 2200w, but I'm a bit partial as I own the 2200.

Run all of your components through the receiver. It will not harm the refresh rate. And with one HDMI out, your setup will be very clean.

As far as speakers go, it's definitely quality over quantity. A great 3.1 will sound much better than a poor 7.2. If you don't have the money now to invest a lot of money into it, build your set up gradually. It took me 3 years to get mine perfect. I quite like Klipsch's Reference Premier line. Be sure the lefts and rights match your center! Very important.

Forget atmos for now. If this is your first set up, don't bother with it. It's a lot of hassle.
