Been producing since 2010, but don't feel confident in my abilities?

Fuck compression learn how to pick the right sounds. for example if you making trap or house

find a good kick.

What is a good kick, ask getyoursnackon lol. jk. a good kick is a kick that works well with the baseline.

Long kick = short basss Long bass = short kick.

this will make your kick and balance and not out of place. To be honest kick and bass balance was my breakthrough. From mixing kick and bass, everything else kind fell in place.

Here is some reference tracks to help you understand

Here is my old music produced back in 2012-2014.

My point is, everything starts with the kick.

balance the kick and bass, and everything will fall into place.

find right synths that work well together so you can easily eq it.

Everything must have its own place.
