Being poor destroyed my appetite and I need tips on how to get it back

I wish this was the right answer. It seems like it right? But it's not for a broke young American. And I'll tell you why. I have similar issues as OP where I dont really hunger and it causes big problems. I got health insurance recently and they set me up with a new doctor, with my first goal to identify and solve this hunger issue. So I visit my doctor and hes fairly dismissive. But ok. We decide to pursue some blood work to rule out physical issues. The tests come back inconclusive, I am perhaps prone to a thyroid issue in the future but as of right now there seems to be nothing wrong physically, as far as a blood test can be. This is all supposed to he covered by my insurance. Which makes sense, its prevention care. Nope the insurance rejects everything. The whole shebang costs me over $1000. I'm not even sure it counted towards my deductible. At least I probably dont have cancer or thyroid issues but I wouldve been much better off eating $1000 of good food.

So no, the answer for OP is probably not "go to the Doctor" :(
