Being a streamer is tough in 2022.

Streamers have said this for years. Even since the height of YouTube Let's Plays, becoming a creator has become more and more difficult because you are a drop in the ocean of streamers, all competing for viewers.

The advice has been the same after all these years. Stream as a hobby, not with the intention of turning it into a job. Expect very low numbers and even sometimes expect nobody to show up. There are countless people who have come and gone from streaming because they expect to be able to quit their jobs and talk into a mic for the rest of their lives and there will be countless more who do the same.

Stream as a hobby. If you happen to get a decent following, that is an incredibly lucky bonus.
