The belief that there is no God can be a basic belief

the point is that you are not necessarily rational in disbelieving in things just because you were born in a state of ignorance.

I would argue that that is not the case. ( if I'm right in unravelling all those back and forth negatives) in that it is rational to not have a state of belief precisely because of being born in a state of ignorance

In terms of the Holocaust the surprise doesn't come from a basic non-belief in the Holocaust or indeed finding someone who has a non belief in the Holocaust because they haven't been informed about it

The surprise is not finding someone with a state of non-belief per-se. It comes from finding someone with a disbelief in the Holocaust . . . . even after having been presented with all the evidence
