I was living overseas at the time of my deconstruction. I wrote a super long, detailed email with way too much information. Never sent it. A wrote a few.

Eventually, I wrote a simple email with just enough to explain and just enough to tantalize. I included a spiritual experience that happened in the context of reading a book of another faith. Fairly short and sweet.

I think it depends on your specific context/situation and the other party. Too much can get lost with face to face conversations because people have a hard time listening intently and openly, often interrupting to interject, or thinking about a response to an interject while you’re saying something important or feeling too defensive to practice true active listening. Again, a lot of that depends on the other party to the conversation, their personality/demeanor.

Email was best for me so I could explain clearly, on my terms, without interruption.
