Like everyone has said-this is a HORRIBLE plan and idea.

It’s a bad idea to begin with but EVEN worse of an idea because of the destination choice.
I don’t know how much you know about Greece but it’s not a place you want to find yourself dumped off in with no money, no friends, no safe accommodations and no food, not to mention a GINORMOUS language/communication barrier.
Can I ask you why Greece is the gap year destination of choice? I’m going to tell you right now. Greece can be a very scary place to be when you’re all alone with no money. If you think that you’re just going to arrive and start working some place busing tables or teaching English as a second language while island hopping and seeing the country then you need a reality check. I’m here to tell you that is absolutely not how it is going to go down.

You’re going to end up stranded, alone, in deep shit, trying to make your way to an American embassy to get yourself out of there. I mean. You must be aware that as of right now Greece has one of the worst economy’s in the world.

Look I’m one of the most spontaneous people ever and have made a lot of dip shit unplanned trips and decisions in my life. Many many.
I have balls and was always a fly by the seat of my pants type of girl.
But listen. Please please please don’t do this.
It’s not safe AT ALL. I mean. If you’re insistent on picking up and flying somewhere I think that the choice of Greece is a bad one. There is no denying at all that Greece is a beautiful and breathtaking country and culture with a lot to explore and a lot to offer. Its true it’s magical.

But it is NOT a place to visit or explore or blindly move to when you’re penniless and jobless and have no real plan of how you will survive once the plane lands and you’re sitting at baggage claim with no where to go and everyone there is going to be trying to take advantage of you. Trust me. There’s a plethora of crooked people there and all major tourist destinations-well really all global destinations for that matter-these places are prime targets for people who go there specifically to prey on people just like you. Do you want to show up in say…Athens and have someone offer you a job after you tell them your story… and then they pretend to feel sorry for you and offer a ride to a safe hostel but then they drive you to an alley an hour away and rob you of whatever belongings you have and maybe beat you up or torture you and leave you for dead-or worse kill you?? Cause that’s a very real and realistic possibility. Choose somewhere else. Save up some cash and then go.

I’m sorry for sounding so harsh but I don’t know how you are actually considering this.
This is beyond nonsensical
