Black people of Reddit: how do you feel about Black History Month?

Today I heard a coworker quote Morgan Freeman as saying he didn't like Black History Month (I have no idea if that's true) and suggest that all black people disapprove of having a Black History Month. That doesn't sound right to me at all, but I'm not part of that community so I wouldn't know. I'd be interested if people could offer their opinions please. I mean no disrespect in asking, this is meant as a sincere inquiry. Thank you, and I apologize if I have framed this question in an insensitive manner, I'm a bit out of date on current affairs regarding the culture of people of colour, owing to the fact that I live in a region that lacks diversity.
