Blood pressure frustrations

I'm at 38 weeks and had a similar scare last week, my BP was 130/100 at the doctors. Which was weird, because generally my BP is very low and more around 110/65. I was sent to the hospital to be monitored for the day and my average BP after 7 hours or so turned out to be 100/60. I seem to have something called white coat hypertension, where being at a doctor's office can make me unreasonably nervous.

If you aren't showing any other symptoms I honestly wouldn't worry. Being stressed, being active, having the baby kick your ribcage for hours on end, being excited for whatever reason can all make you get a higher reading. Have you tried getting your BP taken while lying back comfortably? I find that tends to help me.

It might help you to get a BP sleeve to read your own BP at home, perhaps in the mornings or evenings when you feel most relaxed, to get a more accurate idea of your real resting BP!

It's good that your doctor is taking it seriously and following up on it, but the home BP sleeve can really ease your worries.
