That’s not the issue. If the world’s wealth were spread equally everyone would only have around 35k. Of course society itself would no longer exist either, but that’s beside the point.

Maybe wealth should be given more to certain individuals who can maximize global well being. This is already largely happening with people like bill gates.

If I gave 1 million to the homeless guy downtown he would most likely end up dying from a drug overdose that same day. Or he would end up spending all of it on products produced by huge corporations.

Reddit loves gaming yet fails to realize that all the games exist solely to make as much money as possible. No engineer is going to make game consoles or PCs unless he will be compensated more than some guy making a coffee. He wants to be above that other person in the social hierarchy. This will always exist. Either by intelligence, wealth, and attractiveness. Most likely it will continue to be a mix of all of those that gets you to the top.
