I broke my finger slamming it in a car door one time. I went to the hospital because it was pretty clear I needed stitches, and when they said they wanted to do an X-ray, I was like “I don’t really think it’s necessary, but go for it”. Doctor comes in afterwards and goes “yeah it’s fractured, we’re gonna give you some antibiotics, and I’ll stitch you up now”. The entire time he’s stitching me up, my friend is going “dude, you gotta see this video when you’re done”.

We get back to the car, he pulls out his phone, and it’s a video of the doctor bending my finger in half, trying to clean it out before he starts the stitches. That’s when I found out I’d broken the bone clean in half, I thought it was a hairline fracture or something.

So yeah, only let a doctor make that determination…because sometimes you don’t even feel it!
