[Build Help] CPU and MOBO advice

If you're running lots of processes (programming), you need more ram than normal (16gb would probably do you well, but most mobo's support 32gb, so you could always upgrade if you wanted more). Also, if you have the money an i7 might be useful for hyperthreading, which allows it to process tasks faster.

If you're not big into gaming, get an older gpu like the gtx 960 or even gtx 750, either could easily run a multi-monitor setup. If you game some at 1080p, I'd suggest the 960.

Getting to your last point, the oculus rift current system requirements are a 970, which will also do very well at 1080p. For oculus, the r9 390 would probably benefit from the extra vram. In a programming build you'll more than fulfill the rest of the requirements for oculus. Note: the requirements include 2 usb 3.0 ports, so watch your mobo for that.

I made this build before I found out you lived in England, give me a minute and I'll convert it, but this'll give you a good idea of what I'm talking about (monitors/mouse&keyboard not added).
