Can we please stop crying for blanket hand cannon nerfs when it's only the exotics that are S-tier?

I played at launch and ended up getting my Thorn before I even had my first legendary weapon of any type. After a few Crucible matches I said that the Thorn definitely needs to be re-balanced. It's OP in PvP and worthless in PvE (6 rounds at the time and I think a slower reload) and I couldn't think of any possible way for them to balance it for both. Today, the only idea I could come up with was changing the burn to a triple shot style bonus. For example, every shot impales the target with a thorn that will explode on the third hit for bonus damage. Nerf the hell out of the impact and make it so you have to be consistent with it rather than this boring-ass potshot fest we play with the current burn.

Personally I quit playing Destiny for the most part, in large part due to being so tired of the current Thorn meta, particularly in ToO. You'd think with the re-forging system we'd see more variety in PvP weapon choice. Granted, there's always going to be min/maxers that will find the best builds, I think the re-forging still allows for some minor variety in the perk setups.

Yeah, everybody's rolling one of 3 specific weapons in each category, but the most deadly weapon in the Crucible is a single Exotic Hand Cannon for which there will be no variety.

I got so tired of going into ToO matches "Hmm what do they have... Sunsinger w/ Thorn, Sunsinger w/ Thorn and.... oh a Gunslinger.... with Thorn."

Not only do I have to fight the same PvE enemies over, and over, and over... Now I've gotta fight the exact same PvP enemies over, and over, and over... Bungie has somehow not only made PvE content redundant, it's made PvP content, something that many would already consider a redundant activity, even more so.
